VW Golf Mk4 GT TDI
Invincible car with many years left to be enjoyed in it! If you are looking, you will know that the VW 1.9 TDI is bulletproof, and the GT TDI is in a class and niche of its own. Ive owned this car for 3 years and I genuinely love it. Im moving to the States and would take it if I can as I have put a lot into it. Im a petrol (diesel) head and Ive had newer cars - 2 Audi A3 2.0 TDI 170 bhps but this is my fave ever! It has never once let me down. Its in very good condition with a lot of history (bills etc) and I have maintained it to a very good standard. Now for the details: I bought it in great condition as a PD 130.
The last owner had it for 9 years. I replaced anything that would give it a new car feel again - suspension parts, brake discs, even the badges etc, and paid a well known company to professionally re-map it to 168 BHP. I have all the certificates and bills for everything. This car has superb low down torque and cruises on the motorway in low revs, yet can overtake anything or increase speed surprisingly even in 6th gear. 6-Speed manual, 60+ mpg (motorway), 40+ around town.
Its in great, but not showroom condition - it's a 2002 car that has a few minor signs of that. Reasonably new Goodyear tyres all round. Cam belt and water pump done straight after I bought it. The interior is in excellent condition and everything works as it should.
I only do 4-5,000 miles per year. It has 2 keys, immobiliser/alarm, cruise control, adjustable heated seats, rain sensors, climate control and ice-cold A//C, a superb heating system, trip computer, radio CD player, electric windows front and back, electric mirrors, adjustable steering wheel, ABS, ESP, front and side airbags, front and rear fog lights - this'older' car really has it all.Look at the engine photos - not an oil leak in sight!
