MK4 VW Golf Gti Tdi PD 150 diesel spares / repair
Re listed due to time waster. Just started the car a couple of days ago.
Battery was flat but jump started fine. I bought the car in 2009 with 70,000 miles on it and its now up to 212,000 under my ownership. Its been a great reliable car.
This is the more powerful 150bhp 1.9 TDI GTI. The car is totally standard, never been remapped or messed around with at all. It has 3 former keepers. It has been SORNd since the summer. I attempted to free up the wiper mechanism for its MOT and cracked the windscreen in the process!
So I just took it off the road. Still starts, runs and drives fine. Tons of history and loads of service receipts. Its due an oil service and you could do the cambelt or chance it. The cambelt and waterpump were last changed at 135,000 on 27/10/2012 so if I was keeping the car I would get the cambelt done in the near future for peace of mind.
It had a new genuine VW clutch fitted at 115,000. Recently (last 30,000 miles or so) its had new front wheel bearings, rear calipers. Discs and pads all round. Advised by garage at 100,000 miles that turbo burns some oil, done another 110,000 miles since then!
Doesnt use any oil between services. Boot lock broken, boot can still be opened from the inside though, passed a few MOTs like this. Glove box handle broken, I keep it shut with a bit of cardboard, again, passed MOTs with this. Rear passenger door stays locked sometimes.
Car is located in LL21 North Wales. Ive been as honest as possible with the description, Id encourage anyone interested to come and take a look / drive. Could be MOTd and used as cheap run around. Would be a shame to break it up.
