Mk4 Golf Gt Tdi Votex Edition, Koni, Mille Miglia, Neuspeed, Recaro
Reluctantly I must list my golf for sale. I bought this car from a long term owner and car enthusiast last year who had taken great care and effort to get it to where it is. I will be moving to Italy and cannot take it with me. This car has been very carefully tuned over a number of years to get it to where it is. Thousands has been spent in that time sourcing the highest quality components and the best workmanship I could afford. When you plan to keep a car for ever you do not skimp on anything, and I made sure that I never settled for second best, choosing instead genuine VAG OEM uprated, custom engineered or premium aftermarket upgrades. I tightened and perfected the road holding with the Neuspeed 28mm rear Anti Roll Bar, H&R spacers, Audi TT wishbone and Cupra R rear beam bushes, Michelin PS3 tyres and Koni Sports suspension, upgraded bump stops, Audi TT Steering Rack, etc. The Audi TT steering rack is 2.5turns, lock to lock, less than the standard rack found on the Golf, and as such when fitted provides a much quicker and more responsive steering feel. Its also fitted with Powerflex Black series rack mount less than 1 year old and feels great. The Audi TT rear control arm bushes were newly fitted this week, along with brand new drop links and Front ARB bushes. These wont need to be touched for another 50k miles. In the past month I have also fitted new Audi TT 225 312mm front brakes and callipers. The discs and pads are brand new genuine Audi whilst the Callipers and carriers were fully refurbed and professionally painted, so this spectacular setup is now ready for anything. The combined result is sure to put a smile on anyones face. The interior and exterior touches do everything to get me around in style and comfort.
The heated leather Recaro interior is the best one in the VAG range in my view. (I had previously fitted R32 konigs, VW sports leathers and Cloth seats, but these are the absolute best fitting, comfortable and stylish of the lot).
Almost all interior elements have been removed and replaced with better, from leather door cards, plastic trims, brushed aluminium interior kit, R32 steering wheel, custom R32/Beetle Sport gear stick, etc. So it all looks plush and will do for another 10 years. The Beetle Sport gearstick is the finest VAG alu version available. Unlike the R32 version, this is real metal, not just silver painted plastic, so will not wear and look shabby after a year or two. The car itself has 147k (now 152k) on the clock, but practically everything has been renewed, replaced and refreshed. The gearbox was rebuilt and a brand new Sachs Clutch kit and DMF fitted, and it has now properly bedded in. I had the engine fully reconditioned three years ago at 137k and this had only done 10000 miles since, so everything is new, cambelt, etc. I had Bobby Singh take it for a session, run some figures, tidy up the airflow and turbo and tune the new engine, everything short of a remap. The A version is the newest generation replacement of the G version MFD which I used to have installed. And fitted to it and wired into the centre console is an Xcar-link iPod interface and analogue aux in, with VW CD player in the glovebox.
The wheels are worth more than a mention. The Mille Miglia Porsche Cup 3 alloys have been out of production since 2003. These were manufactured for Porsche under licence by Mille Miglia in Italy, and they produced a one-off set in PCD 5x100 ET35 specifically for the Golf Mk4 so are direct fit and dont need complicated PCD adapters or anything. These are as rare as hens teeth in 8.5j, but I managed to import a set from Germany at some expense and they are one of the most asked after items on the car. They are finished in Anthracite with the rims done in Audi Titanium and I have custom Porsche badges and original centre caps fitted. Clearly if I break the car for parts I could make at least double what Im charging, but that would go against my vision. The car is worth far more than just the sum of all its parts. Its grown and evolved through time with plenty of research, attention to detail and the efforts of a lot of people, and I would like it to go to an enthusiast, like me who, will appreciate the pleasure of driving it. This is no show car though, it is intended to be driven every day, and there are some minor blemishes that can be expected, but nothing significant.

New Aero Wipers, and Wiper Blades Fitted today! In the fairly short time I have had the pleasure of driving this superb car I have carried out the following (many things are for piece of mind). Full service, using Quantum PD oil, uprated pollen cabin filters to ensure the best pollution filtration into the cabin, bosch & mann filters only. MOTd a just before Christmas. Replaced headlights with the best Phillips bulbs I could find since one had just gone. Rear Koni shock was leaking oil & therefore I decided to replace both back shocks with genuine replacement Koni Yellow Sport dampers. I also replaced the bolts OEM VW and used Febi Bilstein sport bump stops. Fitted a Neuspeed front upper strut brace. A noticeable upgrade (Neuspeed front strut is very sturdy with thick metal baseplates at the suspension towers - unlike others). Deep cleaned the heated recaro leathers using a three step leather application.- Year: 2001
