I have owned this MKIV Golf for the past 7 months and I cannot fault the car in any area. It is a dream to drive. Due to its age, there is bound to be the odd creek here and there, but the car is still in great condition. The car has a Matt Black finish, to make you aware this WAS a spray can job.

The finished job is to a good quality. This was to be an ongoing project but unfortunately work has swallowed by life and I have opted for a car that I don't have to work on. I'd recommend getting some black rims, tinted windows and some inner detail and this will be a beauty. The car runs perfectly, starts first time, every time. As the car is a diesel, when started it will kick out a cloud, which is to be expected. When in motion the suspension is smooth, you will feel the odd bump in the road but for the age, the suspension has lasted incredibly well.

The only area that I have ever had a qualm about was the gears. Going from my girlfriends 2008 Clio to the 2001 Golf you can definitely feel that the gears are heavier to move, but again, this is to be expected. The gear locator is still in good condition and the gears will glide into place when needed.

Unfortunately, MK VI Golf's have had a history of troubled turbos. In July 2016 the turbo unit was leaking and this had to be rebuilt at my expense.

The turbo was rebuilt by Turbo Dynamics in Christchurch through my local garage. They mentioned there was a good uplift in the performance due to the leak being patched up, and that the engine should be running in good condition for years to come as long as it is maintained appropriately.

The turbo rebuild alone could sell this car. The SE edition comes with all of the premium bits and bobs you'd expect; power steering, electrics windows, central remote locking.

The dash, gauges internal trims are in excellent condition. The drivers seat has partial cigarette burns from a previous owner, but once you're in the vehicle, you won't notice. The front passengers locking'nub' is not installed due to a new window actuator having to be installed 5 months ago, I have the piece but I was unable to fit it again due to time constraints, and my patience.. It does not come with a CD option but when you have Bluetooth, you won't need a CD, it automatically connects when the car is started. Some areas may need to be touched up over time. A full 4 litre bottle of engine oil, if not needed, I'll remove it from the price. The rear'GOLF' badge was removed, these are included.

Overall, this car is an absolute beast to drive, although it is 90 bph, the kick out from the torque is immense, absolute wonder to drive.
