2000 VW Jetta Shifter Box Cables 5-Spd Manual 02J MK4 Golf Beetle 02A TDI VR6 99-05. This shifter knob, box, cables and mount bracket were carefully removed from a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta fitted with a 02j 5-speed manual transmission. This listing includes original shift knob, boot and all mounting hardware. Part number on the shifter clip is 1J0 711 565. Part number on the cable sleeve is 1J0 711 266 E. This shifter assembly is used but has been inspected and ball joint bushing shimmed to ensure proper motion with minimal slop in the main ball joint (most common failure mode). The lateral shaft movement bushing and fore-aft bushings appear to be in good condition. The cable casings are in good shape and the ends only show minimal corrosion. The original rubber cable sleeves are still attached and appear undamaged. The shift knob is in good condition and boot in poor condition with a few small holes.
This assembly is a significant upgrade from the MK3 and early Mk4 shifter assemblies. Note: retrofitting MK3 and early MK4 models will also require updated shift tower, pendulum and couplers.
